Itinerary

On a day trip from Melbourne, tourists are transported to witness the prime attractions of the magnificent Grampians National Park.

Tourists will feel they have travelled back in time while marvelling at the Ancient Landscape, showcasing rugged mountain structures and stunning sandstone ridges. Under the tutelage of an expert guide, you will develop a deeper understanding of the area’s natural beauty and historical importance.

As you leave the city, the route leads 250 km westward, passing through landscapes steeped in Victorian Goldrush heritage. En route, a stop in a quaint town allows exploration of the mining legacy and enjoyment of a morning tea or coffee.

Upon reaching the Grampians National Park, guests can visit the Brambuk Indigenous Cultural Centre to discover the foundational myths vital to the area’s geography. Opportunities to encounter local wildlife, including wallabies, emus, and echidnas, are part of this enlightening experience, revealing Gariwerd’s significance to the Aboriginal community.

Reeds Lookout presents sweeping vistas of Lake Wartook, the Victoria Valley, and the Mount Difficult Range. Following the trail, visitors get to discover The Balconies, a renowned spot distinguished by its extraordinary rock structures and expansive scenic views. A highlight is the ‘Jaws of Death,’ notably depicted in the Japanese animated movie ‘Princess Mononoke.
One of the well-known waterfalls in Victoria Valley, visitors can hike down to the base and back to witness the impressive volume of water and enjoy the refreshing air spray. The hike consists of approximately 250 steps to the base and back. Additionally, there is an option for a flat walk over the top of the falls for those seeking an easier route. Both options are equally suitable. If Mackenzie Falls were to be closed to the public, this stop would be replaced by a serene hike to Silverband Falls.

A stop at Boroka Lookout and walking along Lake Bellfield offer breathtaking scenery views, with the option to choose based on weather and visibility.

In Halls Gap, residents don’t have to own a lawn mower because kangaroos can be spotted casually grazing on the grass in the evening. You will probably encounter a variety of Australian birds, including kookaburras and emus. Still, you will be guaranteed to witness a kangaroo during your visit to the Grampians. We occasionally have the opportunity to see echidnas and wallabies. Remember not to feed the wild animals, but ensure your camera battery is charged.
At some point, we need to return to the city. The journey from the Grampians, which takes 3 hours, includes a stop to buy dinner (at your own expense). After a day of exploration, take some time to unwind and contemplate. You will arrive in Melbourne around 8.30 pm with the option to be dropped off at your original pick-up spot or public transportation connections.
