Itinerary

The Perth to Exmouth tour departs Perth at 7:25 am and travels north along the coast. Lunch will be provided by the Indian Ocean, and a tour guide will take you on a walk through the rock formations of the Pinnacles Desert. As evening approaches, you will travel through Geraldton and spend the night in Kalbarri.

Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Accommodation: Kalbarri Backpackers YHA. Dorm with shared bathroom facilities.

Difficulty Level: Grade 1-2.

Today, explore Kalbarri National Park. Hike to Nature’s Window and admire the rock formation. Take the Z Bend trail for stunning views of the park. Later, head to Shark Bay and see the unique beach with white cockle shells. Tonight, accommodation will be in Monkey Mia.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.

Accommodation: RAC Monkey Mia Resort Backpacker Dorms or similar (shared bathroom facilities).

Options: Kalbarri Abseiling Z-Bend.

Driving Distance: 450km.

Hike Distance: 3km Grade 3-4.

*Start the day with adventure by abseiling down the gorge walls in Kalbarri National Park with Kalbarri Abseil. No previous experience is necessary, as full training will be provided on-site. All equipment was provided also. Get photos on your own camera, as guests not participating can take photos for you! This adventure can be organised while on tour.

This morning, witness Australia’s famous wildlife encounter: the Monkey Mia Dolphins swimming to shore and being hand-fed in knee-deep water. Relax on the stunning coastline before visiting the Stromatolites. These rock formations, created by a single-celled microbe, are still alive and estimated to be 3.7 billion years old. Tonight, you’ll travel to Coral Bay and stay overnight on the edge of the Ningaloo Reef.

Hike Distance: 2km Grade 1

Explore the Ningaloo Reef in Coral Bay. Snorkel the vibrant reefs just steps from the beach. Take an optional snorkel or dive tour to explore further. Enjoy the beach and soak up the sun. Later, travel to Exmouth.

Accommodation: Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or similar (shared bathroom facilities).

Options: Swim with Manta Rays, Snorkel Ningaloo Reef, and Glass Bottom Boat Tours (Guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on this day 4 as they return after the bus has left Coral Bay).

Please note that this activity is only available for competent swimmers and involves snorkelling.

Coral Bay Ecotours offers a 5-6 hour tour of the Ningaloo Reef. The tour includes all necessary equipment, such as a wetsuit if needed, and provides morning and afternoon tea, as well as a buffet lunch with cold meats and salads. During the tour, you can witness the graceful movements of manta rays and participate in two snorkelling sessions to observe beautiful fish, corals, and possibly sea turtles and reef sharks. Additionally, there is a visit to the turtle sanctuary, where you can observe turtles surfacing for a breath in the shallows.

Experience a glass-bottom boat tour on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours.

Take a tour of the Ninglao Reef on Coral Bay Ecotours’ glass bottom boat. See tropical and temperate fish and corals through the glass. Choose from 1, 2, or 3-hour journeys. The 1-hour journey is for glass viewing only. The 2-hour journey includes glass viewing and a snorkel site. The 3-hour journey includes glass viewing, snorkelling, and visiting the turtle sanctuary. At the sanctuary, you can see turtles feeding and coming up for air in the shallows. The skipper can even try to get the turtles under the glass for you. Snorkel tours come with equipment.

Guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on [day 4] due to the scheduling conflict with the bus departure from Coral Bay. All optional activities in Coral Bay must be completed no later than 3:45-4:00 pm.

Today, you will explore Cape Range National Park. You will see rugged limestone ranges, deep canyons, and 50km of pristine beaches. You can visit Turquoise Bay, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, relax at Milyering Visitors Center, and more. The tour will finish in the late afternoon, making it an incredible way to end your Perth to Exmouth tour.

Whaleshark and Humpback Whale swimming is available seasonally from March to August with Exmouth Dive Centre. Snorkelling is offered, but only for competent swimmers.

*Join Exmouth Dive Centre for a day on the water. Start with a reef snorkel to see coral gardens and fish. You might see turtles or reef sharks, too. Then, they’ll look for humpback whales and whale sharks with a spotter plane. Humpback whale swim depends on whale cooperation. If they’re uncooperative, the plane will find another group. Equipment and wetsuits are included. You’ll also get morning and afternoon tea and a buffet lunch.

Regrettably, check-out time for your accommodation is at 10:00 am today, so we will have to bid our farewells.
