What you can actually see!

Itinerary

We will drive through the ancient lava fields of western Victoria and make a detour to Tower Hill, an extinct volcano filled with wildlife. A guided walk with Worn Gundidj will teach us about the traditional lifestyle of Australia’s indigenous people, including bush tucker and medicine. We will then drive the Great Ocean Road in reverse, starting with the Shipwreck Coast and its famous landmarks like the Bay of Islands, The Grotto, and London Bridge. We will have time to explore the village of Port Campbel
l and enjoy some locally made beers from Sow & Piglets Brewery with dinner. Finally, we will end the day at the 12 Apostles to watch the sunset.

The second day starts with climbing the stairs to Loch Ard Gorge’s beach. It’s before the crowds arrive for a unique experience at this popular attraction. After that, there’s a stroll along a section of the Great Ocean Walk and a visit to the beach level at the Apostles at Gibson Steps. Then, it’s time to explore the Otway rainforest. The Redwoods of the Otways, hidden and rarely visited, will amaze visitors. These trees are the tallest and second tallest species in the world, standing side by side.

After that, it’s back on the road to continue the breathtaking coastal drive. There will be stops in the Apollo Bay and Lorne townships to enjoy the beach town lifestyle. Don’t miss the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery for delicious treats and one of Australia’s most popular surf beaches. The trip back to Melbourne will be around 6:30 pm.
